I had one extra MIDI prefs box highlighted that I didn't need. Last week, every time I used a Faderfox button to kill the lighting, the video annoyingly went blank, too. I take screenshots of the MIDI prefs in case I have to go back and reset them. Live's MIDI prefs can get pretty complex, especially when multiple programs, multiple MIDI controllers, multiple computers, and/or virtual MIDI buses are involved. IAC 1 is for sync between the audio (from another instance of Live) and video/lighting instances of Live, IAC 2 is an internal bus for video/lighting, IAC 3 is for DMX lighting, and IAC 4 to Arkaos. Here's a screenshot from my video/lighting instance of Live: I was using Rewire to Arkaos, but it quit working one night, for whatever reason. It's then available as a MIDI output to Arkaos. Could the control surface settings have anything to do with it? For outputting MIDI to Modul8, you only need Track enabled in MIDI prefs, not Remote.Īll I do is enable the IAC driver in Audio MIDI Setup, and select it as an output in Live's MIDI prefs. You got me stumped! It all looks OK to me, except for Sync being grayed out. Now more than ever, we need to stay mentally and. Why can't I select a MIDI control number here?Īny help, tutorial, walkthrough, on this issue would be much appreciated. In this new reality that we all live in, COVID-19 has changed everything. What the hell? I downloaded an Arkaos demo a while back, but it's expired. For every OSC message that modul8 sends to OSCulator, that you want to forward to the iPad, select 'OSC. Having you iPad connected and displaying the layout, make sure that it is set as the Default Host (in Parameters Window, OSC Routes tab). When I don't add a sound I can output MIDI to Arkaos VJ. The basic steps are : Set modul8 to send OSC to the localhost on OSCulator's port (8000 by default). When I add a sound to a MIDI track it only gives me the option to output Audio, not MIDI.Ģ. I also have set the IAC driver as an input and output device and turned on all ports. In Live Preferences I have my MIDI control surface installed and working, with input and output set to the same name (microKONTROL) - my MIDI controller. In MIDI settings for my Mac, I enabled the IAC driver.Ģ. So I've done a good bit of reading in this forum and perusing the manuals and the Live Lessons, but I STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND how to send MIDI out of Live to other applications.
